Forum Rules
Effective Date: 01/03/2013
These rules apply to any information you publish or send via this service, including posting on forums or uploading comments, articles, or photos. Our terms and conditions also apply. As stated in the terms and conditions, you are legally responsible for your content. We have no obligation to vet or monitor user content, and this board is unmoderated. However, we reserve the right to remove content at our discretion. You can alert us to objectionable content as explained below. Here are the rules:
Swearing is not permitted in the home page article comments. In the forums, there may be more leeway
for ‘adult’ language, subject to any guidelines specified. However, excessive swearing will not be
tolerated. It’s one thing to vent after a match – it’s another to have it in numerous posts regardless
of the topic.
The forums are for discussion and debate. This means that, most of the time, you may not agree with
each other. You can critique a fellow member’s point of view, but you cannot attack them personally
for holding that view. Do not make your threads personal.
Enjoy the platform. Don’t abuse us or other users. If you dislike a poster, simply choose not to read
or reply to them. This is meant to be fun. You can also add that person to your ‘ignore’ list (click
on their username, and you’ll see the option to add them to the ignore list).
If you have a serious issue with the site or another user, please use the alert button next to all
posts or send us a private message. Do not address such grievances on the boards by starting multiple
threads or making digs within topics.
If you wish to use the alert button, please do so only if it is truly necessary. Do not misuse the
alert function. Clearly state why you object to the content.
Multiple LOLs, yeahs, etc., are not suitable responses to a user’s comment. Either provide something
meaningful or refrain from posting. Also, avoid using all capital letters (including in headings) or
text speak.
Stay on topic as specified in the forum or thread.
If you are commenting on an article, copy and paste the article link into the thread, along with a
short extract if necessary, but do not post the entire article.
Do not make any comments that are defamatory, offensive, illegal, vulgar, obscene, abusive,
threatening, harassing, sexist, racist, homophobic, invasive of another’s privacy, or otherwise
inappropriate.
For your safety and that of others, do not disclose any information that could identify or contact you
or others, including last names, postal/email addresses, or phone numbers.
Do not link to any third-party websites that are illegal, pornographic, or otherwise
inappropriate.
